The People Behind the Mandate

Advisors who treat discretion as a professional obligation.

The Alpine Workshop team brings together fiduciary advisory, structured finance, and legal expertise under one mandate: protect the client's capital above all else.

A small team with a narrow, deep mandate.

Alpine Workshop deliberately stays small. We work with a defined number of clients — never more than a team member can know well — so that every relationship receives genuine senior attention. Our advisors hold qualifications in financial planning, structured products, and EU regulatory compliance, and participate in annual continuing education to keep pace with changes to PRIIP rules, Solvency II insurance frameworks, and Slovak tax legislation. What we do not do: take on clients we cannot serve properly. If your situation falls outside our expertise, we will tell you directly and refer you to someone better placed. That commitment to scope is part of how we protect our own reputation and, by extension, yours.

The team behind every mandate.

Each advisor maintains a limited client roster to ensure attentive, personalised service on every mandate.

Tomáš Bednár — Lead Advisor

Tomáš has 16 years of experience in structured products and private client wealth protection, previously with a Luxembourg-based asset manager. He leads all new client engagements and is the primary author of each Preservation Architecture document. He holds CFA and EFA designations.

Jana Novotná — Risk & Compliance

Jana specialises in EU regulatory frameworks, insurance wrapper compliance, and cross-border reporting obligations. She joined Alpine Workshop in 2016 after five years in the Slovak financial regulator's supervision division, and oversees all annual compliance reviews for client structures.

Marek Polák — Structured Products

Marek sources and analyses capital-guarantee instruments from EU primary and secondary markets. With a background in fixed income at a Prague-based investment bank, he evaluates counterparty credit risk, document terms, and secondary liquidity for every bond position recommended to clients.

Lucia Gazdíková — Client Relations

Lucia manages client communications, quarterly reporting schedules, and coordinates with external legal and tax advisors on behalf of clients. She speaks Slovak, English, and Czech fluently, and ensures that every reporting document reaches the client in the language and format they prefer.

Qualifications and regulatory standing.

Alpine Workshop is registered as a financial advisory firm under the supervision of the Národná banka Slovenska (NBS), the Slovak financial regulator. All client-facing advisors hold valid NBS licences for investment advisory and insurance distribution. We carry professional indemnity insurance, maintain a segregated client account structure, and operate under a written conflicts-of-interest policy that is available to any client on request. Our advisory fees are disclosed in full in the pre-contractual documentation required under MiFID II, so you will see the total cost of advice before you sign anything. We believe these standards should be the floor, not a differentiator — but we state them clearly because not every firm in our market meets them.

“Tomáš spent three hours with us before we signed a single document, mapping our entire asset situation and explaining every risk we had not considered. That kind of thoroughness, before any fee was agreed, told us everything about how the relationship would continue.”
